Community Outreach ActivitiesQUILTZ 4 KIDZ – We continue to support refugee children and other needy children in Ottawa and area by making and donating up to 100 tied fleece blankets each year. Join us Friday mornings 10 am – noon to help tie blankets. Call the office to verify.
CHRISTMAS HAMPERS – MUC supplies food hampers and gifts to needy families from the area before Christmas.
FOOD CUPBOARD- All four churches in Manotick work together to form a central, Emergency Food Cupboard for the community. Food is delivered to directly to peoples homes. This serves needy families in the area who are not eligible to use the Ottawa Food Bank. To order food or get information please call 613-692-6333.
Naomi House is a free, confidential, safe and secure emergency shelter for women 16 and over with or without children who have been physically, emotionally, verbally or sexually abused. They are located at 607 Lawerence Street in winchester, ON.
This is a short stay home for refugees arriving in Ottawa with no place to stay. On January 16, 2010, Outreach presented Matthew Housewith their first fleece quilt.
Matthew House also runs Ottawa Furniture Bank in Kanata.Tel: 613-240-6680 for hours of operation. If you have some furniture to donate that is in good condition, contact The Furniture Bank at the number listed.
